Jake is a Western Slope native whose fanaticism for fly fishing started at an early age chasing trout on the Grand Mesa and Gunnison River. Jake started building fly rods for Scott in the Telluride factory when he was in high school and then went off to college in Bozeman, CSU and New Zealand to pursue new trout waters.
AT CSU Jake became obsessed with targeting bass and other warm water species in still water environments. These days, when Jake’s not sleeping, chances are he is fishing in his Mako boat on some Front Range lake perfecting his flies and warm water techniques. Jake loves Scott rods because of the brands versatility and adds, “No matter what fish species you obsess over, Scott builds a fly rod that will fuel your madness!”
Jake guides for warm water species on the Front Range for Colorado Skies Outfitter in Parker, Colorado and is a float guide for Frying Pan Anglers and Crystal Fly Shop in the Roaring Fork Valley. Jake is also a fly designer for Solitude, a pro angler for several fly fishing companies and gives warm water seminars throughout Colorado.
